Find a niche with a keyword research tool

Niche Keyword Research Tool

I have discovered the power of keyword research and a light bulb went on for me. It took a while for me to grasp…but eventually the continuous repetition and reinforcement from the Wealthy Affiliate’s various forms of training gave me that “Aha” moment.

I have started to follow the Wealthy Affiliate’s training step-by-step and applied the WA Niche Keyword Research Tool “Jaaxy” much more thorough and I have realized the importance of Jaaxy research, that it actually works and how to properly apply it.

Why only now?

When one starts a training program like Wealthy Affiliate for the purpose of making money from your online business, you tend to bring with you your own set of ideas and believes.

You think you come open-minded and you keep telling yourself that you are starting a clean slate, a sponge ready to take it all in. Unfortunately, there is that little voice in your head that keeps telling you “I know better, I am going to give my unique spin on this online training and become a sudden success.” I think one’s unconscious ego plays a big role in preventing one from learning properly and that keeps one stuck in one place.

You tend to apply what you feel comfortable with or what falls within your range of viewpoints and disregard the rest. This happens naturally on a sub-conscious level without you even realizing it.

Upon my analyses of my success with my online business and the realization that I can and should do better, I decided to go back to the source and follow the weekly Live Webinars and immediately apply what the Wealthy Affiliate training is teaching us.

In the month of January 2019 Wealthy Affiliate is doing a case study of starting a mini niche site from scratch. This follows a previous niche site, the famous NFL Football Snack Helmets which was built for training as an example for Wealthy Affiliate premium members. The Football Snack Helmet website is really doing well and is kept up-to-date by Jay O Neill from Wealthy Affiliate.

Using keyword research to start a mini niche website

The Wealthy Affiliate Live Training coach Jay is building a niche mini website in the small niche of color-blind eyewear. You can find the website here >>>>colorblindeyewear.com<<<<<<<<<. I have been watching the process and the unfolding of this mini online business with intent.

Then it struck me. I should do exactly what Jay is showing us and apply this training word-for-word, example-by-example on my own mini website.

I went back to the start of the training webinars. As I re-watched the webinar, and other than realizing that I missed very important small suggestions, I have also missed the importance of niches research.

When you follow a person word-for-word and start to apply exactly what is being suggested or taught something else triggers in your mind. For me, it was the realization that I have neglected the importance of a keyword research tool.

It is not as if I have to source it and do major research on the best keyword research tool. Wealthy Affiliate provides the most comprehensive and state-of-the-art online keyword research tool called Jaaxy.

Should you like to know why it is being regarded as the best keyword research tool, you can read more about it on my blog ====>>> HERE.

In this article I am going to show you how I have actually used Jaaxy for niches research, to come up with ideas and how I found a very lucrative niche which I am going to explore and build a brand new online business.

Step1: Amazon research

The aim of my niche website will be to earn affiliate commissions. For now, the strategy is to look at the Amazon bestsellers in the various departments in Amazon. This will give you an idea about the current trends in the market. You can ponder about a video that you watched that really moved you or an advertisement online that made you click on it. If it interests you look at the Amazon top sellers in that specific department.

You will see in the image below that I have started my research on collectible coins. I have a small coin collection. My brother is a serious numismatic. Precious metal coins maintain and grow in value and are protectors against inflation risk. It can further be used as a wealth builder. Coins have a very interesting history and stories connected to it and I love history as well. This sparked my curiosity whether collectible, rare and precious coins can be a niche market for a new online business.

Collectible coins Amazon bestsellers

From the Amazon bestsellers, I could see that there is a market for coins and potential referral commission. One of the standouts appears to be the 2018 American Silver Eagle individual coins or box sets. It is reasonably priced, affordable and from my other research, I know that silver is poised for future growth. A collection of silver could explode if problems occur with fiat currencies.

Step 2: Jaaxy niche keyword research

I have identified that collectible coins trade on Amazon. Now I need to take my research one step further to determine if collectible coins could be a lucrative niche for my online business.

I spoke to my brother about the silver Eagle coin and other possible coins that I could market on my website. My brother mentioned his interest in the Morgan Silver Dollar.

Now I am curious and I have enough motivation to investigate this niche further.

This takes me to Jaaxy.

I searched the term Morgan Silver Dollar. The results of my search are displayed below. It is a wide phrase but I normally start wide and then I look at the suggestions that Jaaxy is giving me.

Step 3: Understanding the keyword research results

Let’s dive into the meaning of the results obtained.

Jaaxy research results

3.1 Keyword

I typed in “Morgan silver dollar” as a phrase. The search results give you the phrases that users type into search engines to find what they are looking for. It is important to remember that when you perform a keyword phrase search that your phrase makes grammatical and human sense. Something like “Morgan dollar silver” will not work.

Jaaxy generates a report with related keyword phrases that people are searching for with a string of results.

Let’s explore the meaningful results given by Jaaxy further.

3.2 Avg

This is the average number of searches that the keyword receivers per month.

My search “morgan silver dollar” gets 2952 searches per month. This is a high number and indicates the popularity of my chosen keywords.

Now, if you look down the list you will see that the keyword phrase “morgan silver dollar values” receives 4106 searches per month!

Jaaxy provides you with related keyword ideas to explore further.

We are striving to target low competition keywords but it must get some traffic and ideally more than 30 searches a month.

3.3 Traffic

Ever wondered how many people will visit your website’s page or posts using that specific keyword. Well, “Traffic” gives you the number of the visits to your websites if you achieve first page rankings in the search engines.

My keyword search of “morgan silver dollar” show that my website will receive 502 visits if I am ranked first in the search engines on that keyword.

The keyword “morgan silver dollar values” will receive 699 visits.

3.4 QSR

QSR refers to the number of competing websites ranked in Google for this exact keyword. Anything under 300 is quite a low competition.

I have dug a little deeper into the Jaaxy research by getting the results from the related search terms that are related to my initial search.

Jaaxy related search results

Let’s look at the results below:

“1878 morgan silver dollar” scores 75 on the QSR

morgan silver dollar value” scores 26 on the QSR

“buy morgan silver dollars” scores 103 on the QSR

I have found 3 new keywords that score very well on QSR.

3.5 KQI

The KQI stands for “Keyword Quality Indicator” based on the different metrics. It is a visual display of whether a keyword is a good one or not.

Green = Great

Yellow = OK

Red = Poor

All 3 searches above are GREAT.

3.6 SEO

The “Search Engine Optimization” score coincides with the KQI score and takes into account traffic and competition and returns a value on a scale of 1 – 100. The higher the score and closer to 100 the more likely you will rank for this keyword on the first page of search engines.

Considering my search results all are very high and close to 100.

“1878 morgan silver dollar” scores 92 on the SEO

“morgan silver dollar value” scores 97 on the SEO

“buy morgan silver dollars” scores 96 on the SEO.

3.7 Domains

This will return the availability of domains related to your keyword and if you are looking for an exact match domain you can use this.

Step 4: Choosing a niche

I dug into keywords with the Jaaxy Niche Keyword Research Tool. I found great ideas and by now I am pretty confident that I have found a niche on which I could build a profitable website.

Looking ahead

The most difficult part of having an online business for me has been to choose a niche. It is also one of the most important decisions you need to make because you invest a lot of “sweat equity” into a niche. Of course, you want to be sure that you have made the right decision.

The Jaaxy Niche Keyword Research Tool makes that decision much easier and opens you up to new niche ideas and categories within your niche.

Now is your chance to try to do some niches research by using Jaaxy. Type in your niche ideas below.

  1. I like this idea. I’ve seen keyword research tools used for the obvious data for keywords, but this is like using that technology and taking it to the next step. Using the keyword data to now find the demand for a niche is like killing two birds with one stone. You instantly put yourself in the place with the most demand. Nicely done! Well written!
